Experience Agriculture and the Countryside

At Cobbs Cross Farm there are real opportunities to study in close up, Nature, Wildlife and aspects of a working farm.

There are the two fresh water Lakes with their different but distinct environments. One is stocked with trout and the other supports a Crayfish colony. There is also a 70 head herd of Cattle and their Calves, the 20,000 free range chickens, the Christmas tree plantation, with different varieties, the 2008 Vineyard with four varieties of grapes, or the production of Organic Potatoes, Hay and Corn.

All of these are located on different parts of the farm.

Mobile Classroom - Study on location

We have created four areas across the farm for the location of the mobile classroom. Students and their teacher are able to arrive by Minibus at each location. The classroom is moved and located depending upon the area of study required by the group.

It is suggested that teachers visit the farm prior to a student visit to make themselves fully aware of what is available and to satisfy themselves as to the safety of the environment. Farm visits can be adjusted to fit to individual requirements.

Study Visits can be arranged as a one off or on at regular basis throughout the year to study the changes in the farm and the wildlife brought by the changing of the seasons.

The next step is to either email or telephone outlining what your requirements might be and we can discuss the options and associated costs.
